Suomen Voima (Finnish Power) is a limited company established by sixteen Finnish electricity companies. The company acquires low-emission and renewable energy for its shareholders. It aims to improve the energy self-sufficiency of its partners and to bring a significant new operator to Scandinavian energy markets.
The company follows the Mankala Principle, i.e. each shareholder is obligated to pay for the expenses arising from the company’s operations relative to ownership. Also, the shares entitle an owner to the electricity generated by the company at a cost price.
